Telling the Stories of England
Bill Bryson describes the British countryside as ‘the loveliest, most fetching landscape the world has ever known’.
With its great history and culture, this is the landscape of Shakespeare, Austen, Dickens and the Brontés. It is also the landscape that cradled the world’s first industrial revolution, the enlightenment that nurtured modern literature, science and enterprise and the empire that shaped much of the modern world.
We’d like to invite you on a journey to a land that will be familiar in many ways. But we hope you will also find the unfamiliar and the unknown, and so leave with a more meaningful understanding of this country and the origins of much of the modern world.
